Courtney Love has reached out to her daughter Frances Bean Cobain in a bid to placate the bubbling feud between the pair. The Hole singer caused controversy last week by suggesting Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl had "hit on" her daughter, with Frances slamming the allegations.
Following days of intense media buzz - and a denial from Grohl - Courtney apologized to Frances via her Twitter account and appeared to concede that the story was untrue, saying, "Bean sorry I believed the gossip.Mommy loves you". Love, 47, first went on the rampage on Tuesday, telling her limited 55,000 followers that she had heard Grohl had made a pass at Frances, calling him a "gross old man macking on Kurt Cobain's only child". The following day, she told the New York Daily News, "Dave's a piece of sh-t, but he's a really good drummer", adding that she was "certainly not going to retract anything". The former Nirvana drummer quickly released a statement denying the allegations, saying, "Unfortunately, Courtney is on another hateful Twitter rant. These new accusations are upsetting, offensive and absolutely untrue". The intensely private Frances even moved to deny the story, telling Twitter followers, "While I'm generally silent on the affairs of my biological mother, her recent tirade has taken a gross turn. I'm in a monogamous relationship and very happy".
