Former Late, Late Show and The Daily Show host Craig Kilborn is returning to TV after a six-year absence with a new half-hour show that will be tested for six weeks this summer on Fox-owned stations in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Boston, Phoenix, Austin and Detroit. Described as a "comedy-talk" show, The Kilborn File is scheduled to launch on June 28 at 7 30 p.m., except in Phoenix an Austin where it will air at 10 30 p.m. In an apparent reference to earlier negotiations with Conan O'Brien to host a similar program, Frank Cicha, head of programming for the Fox stations, said in a statement, "We've been looking for the right opportunity to do a program like this for some time, so we didn't hesitate when Craig approached us with the idea for this show -- a half hour, first run, day-and-date program that can run in multiple dayparts and is compatible with both news and comedy." Kilborn himself said in the statement, "The last few years of triathlons and charity work have been fulfilling, but fulfillment is overrated. Let's get it on!"
