Australian fans at a sold-out Cranberries concert on Thursday (22Mar12) were left fuming when the band failed to show.
Revellers at Sydney's Enmore Theatre enjoyed a warm-up set from support act Bonjah before they were told the Irish rockers would not be taking the stage.
The Zombie hitmakers have since released a statement explaining they had to axe the performance after frontwoman Dolores O'Riordan fell ill.
The post on Facebook.com reads: "We want to apologise for tonight's last minute cancellation at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney. It was unavoidable, and we're very sorry. Dolores is suffering from food poisoning and was unable to perform.
"Right up to the last minute we were hoping the show might be able to go ahead, but Dolores was just too unwell. We know you're all very disappointed and this has been a huge inconvenience for you."
The Cranberries have rescheduled the gig for 26 March (12).
