A lack of toilets at two recent Arctic Monkeys gigs may have resulted in yesterday's one-day international between England and India at Old Trafford smelling slightly more than it should have done.

The chart-topping band played a couple of gigs at Lancashire cricket club's ground on July 28th and 29th, during which a severe shortage of toilets allegedly led to fans taking matters into their own hands.

According to reports many relieved themselves directly on to the outfield.

Rather than the senses enjoying the usual sound of leather on willow, many spectators at yesterday's one-day international at Old Trafford in Manchester were complaining of the unpleasant smell stale of urine.

"Men were peeing into empty pint glasses and emptying the contents on the outfield, and women were squatting to pee due to long toilet queues," Hampshire wicketkeeper Nic Pothas, who played in a county match at the ground last week, told the Sun newspaper.

"The smell on the outfield was diabolical, and it was obviously stale wee."

Recent flooding at the ground has also been attributed to the outfield's poor state.
