Critics Hail Vieira's Today Debut
Critics have welcomed Meredith Vieira's debut on NBC's Today show with effusive praise. Alessandra Stanley in the New York Times wrote that "the staff of Today greeted its new co-anchor with the kind of relief and giddy happiness that enveloped Corazon Aquino after Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos were ousted." She described Vieira as "absolutely radiant" and "charming" and "easy on the eyes and ears."
