Sheryl Crow has given up defending herself against accusations she ripped off one of her biggest hits - because her struggle with cancer helped put the battle into perspective. The rocker topped music charts with her 1994 Grammy Award-winning song All I Wanna Do, inspired by a Wyn Cooper poem.
Crow stumbled upon Cooper's work at a Los Angeles-area used book store, and insists he's been given credit as a co-writer on the track and has received song royalties ever since.
And in an excerpt in Andrea Buchanan's inspirational book Note to Self, Crow credits her battle with breast cancer in 2006 with helping her get over critics who accuse her of not acknowledging the poet.
She writes, I hold no grudges against anybody for anything, and my days are better lived that way."
