Authorities in New Orleans, Louisiana have dismissed a battery case against Cuba Gooding, JR. after the bartender he is accused of pushing refused to press charges.
The Jerry Maguire star hit headlines on Tuesday (31Jul12) when a warrant for his arrest was issued following allegations he shoved a female employee at the Old Absinthe House. The actor had been asked to leave the establishment after reportedly becoming embroiled in a dispute with fellow patrons who had been taking his picture.
Gooding, Jr. met with New Orleans police on Wednesday (01Aug12) to explain himself and the warrant for misdemeanour battery was recalled.
He was due to appear in court on Friday (03Aug12) to answer the charge, but his alleged victim declined to pursue the investigation and as a result, the City Attorney has dropped the case.
A court official signed an expungement order on Friday, officially clearing Gooding, Jr. from any wrongdoing, according to Tmz.com.
The actor is currently in the city filming upcoming movie biopic The Butler.
