British rocker Damon Albarn joined forces with soul veteran Bobby Womack on Monday night (01Oct12) to stage a secret concert in London.

The performance at the Notting Hill Arts Club was quietly announced on Twitter.com on Friday (28Sep12) by bosses at Womack's new label XL Recordings and the unlikely pair hit the stage with backing from TV On The Radio's Jaleel Bunton on bass.

The gig, staged to celebrate Womack's comeback album The Bravest Man In The Universe - which was produced by Albarn, was attended by just 100 fans, including celebrity DJ Mark Ronson and his new wife, French model/actress Josephine De La Baume.

It was the 68-year-old music legend's first full performance since beating colon cancer earlier this year (12).
