Actor Matt Damon regrets starving himself for his role in Courage Under Fire because it led to bad health.
Damon lost almost 50 pounds (3 stone 9 pounds) to realistically play the role of a heroin addict in the 1996 movie.
But The Departed star admits his strict exercise and diet regime was too dramatic.
He says, "I went too far. I got sick and I wouldn't do that again because it was just too much. At the same time it helped the performance. I didn't have to act at all - I was a wreck.
"I was getting dizzy spells and hot flashes. I didn't say anything to anyone for a while because I was afraid I might be really ill."
