Daniel Day Lewis - Daniel Day Lewis Wows As Abraham Lincoln
Daniel Day Lewis has had fans waiting in anticipation for a first glimpse of him following the announcement that he'd be playing the role of former American President Abraham Lincoln in Stephen Spielberg's forthcoming biopic. Known for his intense commitment to method acting, Day-Lewis' perseverance has paid off in a big way over the last few years, notching up a slew of accolades including two Academy Awards for 'Best Actor' and a string of others for films such as 1989's 'My Left Foot', 2002's 'Gangs Of New York' and the phenomenally received 'There Will Be Blood' in 2007.
Now the public have caught their first snap of the actor in full method ahead of the Lincoln role, reports Total Film, and true to form the 54 year-old looks full in the mindset already, with his hair slicked back and beard neatly trimmed so as to match the 16th President's own famous style. Rumours are that Day-Lewis has been in full method since March; an impressive and admirable feat though some may be disappointed that the snap of the actor didn't feature him wearing full Lincoln regalia.
Filming for the biopic began last month, with the film expected to be released in the latter part of next year. It features a truly mouth watering cast alongside Day-Lewis including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Sally Field and LIAM NEESON.
