Daniel Radcliffe is set to be honoured with the Trevor Project's Hero Award for his work helping the suicide prevention organisation.
The Harry Potter star will be handed the top prize for raising awareness of the non-profit group dedicated to crisis support for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered youths.
But the modest Brit, who has appeared in public service announcements for the Trevor Project since 2009, insists the real heroes are the staff members working tirelessly for the charity.
He tells the Associated Press, "It's fantastic. The fact that they think of what I've done by promoting awareness of the Trevor Project itself and the issues that it works to promote and help is a great honour.
"The people that are doing the heroic things are the people answering phones 24 hours a day in the Trevor call centres. I think that out of everything that I've done so far in my career, I think this is absolutely one of the most important, if not the most important, thing that I'm associated with."
Former recipients of the Trevor Hero Award include actor Nathan Lane, Milk screenwriter Dustin Lance Black and Ugly Betty star Vanessa Williams.
Radcliffe will pick up his award at a ceremony in New York in June (11).
