Australian singer-turned-Tv star Dannii Minogue had no qualms about turning 40 last year (11), insisting she felt "privileged" to reach the milestone after losing her best friend to cancer in the mid 2000s.
The Put the Needle on It hitmaker marked her birthday in October (11) with a lavish party on a tram in Melbourne, but she admits the celebrations were bittersweet.
She tells Britain's Hello! magazine, "For me, the biggest thing was just cherishing every moment. A lot of people asked me if I was scared about turning 40, but that was the last thing on my mind. I have lost one of my best friends to cancer and I thought, 'She didn't get the privilege of reaching 40 and here I am'.
"It made me feel so many emotions but none of them had to do with, 'I need more eye cream'. It was just that it was a special moment. I really embraced it. I loved it."
