McFly star Danny Jones is writing a song for One Direction.

The guitarist has been asked by Simon Cowell to pen a tune for his world-conquering boy band but admits the music mogul is a tough taskmaster.

Danny - who co-wrote tracks on all of McFly's five albums - said: ''I've never felt pressure like it - there are emails going in and out all the time but I definitely want to do more writing and producing.''

While he's writing songs for other bands, Danny is still fully involved with McFly and earlier this month the group invited fans to be part of the music video for new single, 'Love Is Easy', from their as-yet-unnamed sixth album.

The 'Obviously' hitmakers - also including Harry Judd, Dougie Poynter and Tom Fletcher - want to keep the video top secret until it's official release, but promise it will be different to their previous efforts.

The day before the shoot, bassist Dougie Poynter tweeted: ''Filming the video for 'Love Is Easy' tomorrow, the theme is nostalgia and matching suits (sic).''

Meanwhile, speaking of how their new album will sound, Tom said: '''It will be the first album where it's 100 per cent exactly how we envision the album to be.''
