David Arquette - David Arquette 'Didn't Want To Live' After Marriage Breakdown
David Arquette admits he used his break-up with Courteney Cox as an excuse to ''accelerate'' the amount of alcohol he consumed, and struggled to deal with his feelings.
The 40-year-old actor - who split with the former 'Friends' star after 11 years of marriage in October 2010 - admits he used the break-up as an excuse to drink more and was unsure how to deal with his feelings in the aftermath.
He said: "We had grown apart for quite a while, and I was just really heartbroken over it. I used it as an excuse to accelerate my drinking.
"You know, to be honest, I didn't want to live anymore. I was just so heartbroken and distraught and my family was broken. I didn't know how to deal with these feelings."
David - who has seven-year-old daughter Coco with Courteney - is now starring in reality show 'Dancing With The Stars', and he admits he signed up because the "themes" of the series reflect his own life.
He said on 'The Ellen Degeneres Show': "I did it because I love dancing. It's part of joy. A lot of the themes that are involved with the dancing are involved with sort of my way of life now.
"Balance, staying connected to your core, being in touch with everything around you, the flow of life."
