Top songwriter/producer David Foster has been honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The 16-time Grammy winner - who has composed tracks for music superstars Destiny's Child, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Madonna - unveiled his sidewalk plaque outside the fabled Capitol Records building in Los Angeles on Friday (31May13).
Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder, Baby Face and Kenny G were among Foster's fans and former collaborators who showed up for the event, and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa even made a rare appearance, insisting, "I hardly ever come (to star unveilings), but I had to be here to honour David Foster, a great friend and one of the most talented people I know."
Foster admitted he was "overwhelmed" by the tribute, telling the crowd, "The entire world knows Hollywood is a place where dreams come true and today, you certainly made mine come true."
