David Haye wants to play a ''bad guy'' in a movie.

The professional boxer plans to turn his hand to acting in the near future and he is keen to take on the role of a villain in a big screen production because his favourite film characters are always antagonists, such as Arnold Schwarzenegger's titular character in 1984 action movie 'The Terminator'.

Speaking at the European premiere of 'The Dark Knight Rises' in London's Leicester Square, he told BANG Showbiz: ''I wouldn't mind playing a bad guy in a film, if someone finds a baddie for me to play then I reckon I could pull that part off.

''For some reason I've always loved the big bad guys in films I watch, like the Terminator. He was a brilliant character.''

The 31-year-old sportsman admits it would be ''easier'' to portray a hero in a movie when he begins his acting career, but he would still rather play a bad guy.

He added: ''I think it would be easier to play a hero at the moment, but I would like to play a villain.

''I really want to learn to act, I've had to train so hard for so many years that it'll be interesting having to learn something all over again.''
