Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth has stunned fans by showing up in a Japanese film as a hitman.

The rocker has posted a five-minute clip of the movie on his YouTube.com page.

In it, the Jump singer appears shirtless and heavily tattooed as he interrupts a gangland poker game and utters the line, "In the name of the moon, I shall right all wrongs and defeat all evil" in Japanese.

Roth, who has made Japan his home in recent years, has not expanded on the movie role or offered any suggestion as to what the film is called, but it is directed by Takuro Ishizaka and Lee Roth is credited as coming up with the original story.
