David Letterman - David Letterman Studio Vandal Pleads Guilty
A man accused of breaking into U.S. TV personality David Letterman's The Late Show studio in New York has paid $7,000 (£4,375) in restitution after pleading guilty to the crime.
Struggling actor James Whittemore was taken into custody one year ago (Jul11) for breaking and entering the fabled Ed Sullivan Theater, where The Beatles made their historic U.S. TV debut, after a drunken binge.
The 23 year old, who apologised to Letterman following his arrest, appeared in court on Monday (09Jul12) and admitted to a misdemeanour charge of criminal mischief.
During the hearing, it was revealed that Whittemore has since undergone treatment for alcohol abuse and has handed over money for damages. He was subsequently released without having to serve time behind bars or probation.
