Sixties pop icons The Kinks are closer to a full reunion than ever before - the feuding Davies brothers Ray and Dave are back on speaking terms.
Singer Ray has told RollingStone.com he has agreed to meet up with his sibling and discuss a major get together.
He says, "I’m seeing Dave next week. I hear that Dave is saying stuff in the press like, 'I’ll do it, but Ray doesn’t want to do it.' This is me saying, 'Ray will do it if Dave does it'."
The last attempt to reform the You Really Got Me hitmakers was derailed in 2004 when Dave Davies suffered a stroke.
The guitarist recently said, "Our plans always weave in and out of peoples' health trauma. A reunion is possible. There's nothing in the pipeline yet, but...we'll see. It's possible."

Ray Davies is one of the underrated pioneers and best lyricists in rock. Brother Dave is an equally innovative guitarist. Let’s hope these two brothers can put their differences behind them and get back to business. "You Really Got Me" remains memorable thanks to the raucous Kinks guitar sound created by Ray's brother Dave Davies. Dave created the sound by altering a tiny inexpensive amp he brought to the studio. I recently posted on my Rockaeology blog at bit.ly/eIMqZ7 the story behind “You Really Got Me.” The inexpensive 6-watt Elpico amp, purchased by Dave at a radio shop for 6 pounds, was plugged into a series of other, more powerful amps. Dave sliced the speaker cone with a razor blade to achieve the distorted fuzz tone. Knitting needles were also stuck into the speakers. It was a sound unique in 1964 -- before Jimi Hendrix and Led Zepplin’s Jimmy Page added the sound to their repertoires.
