Daniel Day-Lewis felt all eyes on him while he was shooting THERE WILL BE BLOOD at California's historic Doheny Mansion - because guards wouldn't let him out of their sight. The Irish actor's character in the film is based on real-life turn-of-the-century oil tycoon Edward L. Doheny, and producers decided to shoot parts of the film at his home. Day-Lewis says, “It's overseen by the Doheny trust, and the Doheny trust employs a very large army of people in extremely neat uniforms to watch every God damn move that you make in the place. “I don't know what they thought we were doing in there, but they seemed quite disturbed by the whole thing.”
