Pirates Of The Caribbean star Johnny Depp is to reteam with his On Stranger Tides director Rob Marshall to remake classic 1930s thriller The Thin Man.
Marshall and his production partner John DeLuca have officially signed on for the planned remake, which the filmmaker will direct. Depp is attached to star in the project. He'll also co-produce.
The director says, "John and I are overjoyed at the idea of working with Johnny again, especially on such a classy and classic project... We are looking forward to working with Warner Brothers to create a reinvention of a beloved story."
The original 1934 film starred William Powell and Myrna Loy.
