Following criticism of her performance at the Queen's Jubilee concert last weekend, Cheryl Cole now faces fresh complaints that she was miming during a recent performance on The Graham Norton show. Cole was a guest on the program, along with comedian Ross Noble and fellow pop singer Katy Perry and the Metro have reported today (June 8, 2012) that members of the audience were unhappy that she wasn't singing live. You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't, eh, Cheryl?
According to the report, one member of the audience, who claimed that she used to be a fan of the former Girls Aloud star, said that not only were her vocals shaky but she also had to start the performance over, after she struggled to get to grips with the dance routine. One Twitter user apparently posted online saying "Just saw Cheryl Cole and Katy Perry live on Graham Norton. Can't believe what a let down Cheryl was! Stuck up and fake, constantly getting her makeup redone, mimed her performance and messed up the routine had to start again twice!" Katy Perry, on the other hand, did a better job of impressing those in attendance, especially for the fact that she managed to do her own make-up.
It wasn't all bad news for Cheryl, though. Some attendees said that she was "inspiring." Though maybe they would have felt differently if they were actually subjected to the results of her attempting to sing her new single 'Call My Name' live.
