DIE HARD 5: A Good Day to Die Hard will be the next movie in the action franchise, with Bruce Willis once again reprising his role as crime fighter John MCClane. The forthcoming movie, planned for release on Valentine's Day 2013, will see MCClane face his toughest challenge yet, reports the Press Association.
Directed by Max Payne's John Moore, Die Hard 5 is expected to begin filming in Russia in January next year. The movie will follow MCClane and his son as they become involved in a prison escape. A statement by 20th Century Fox said, "Since the first Die Hard in 1988, John MCClane has found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, with the skills and attitude to always be the last man standing, making him enemy number one for terrorists the world over". Despite initial reservations ahead of its release, the fourth movie 'Live Free or Die Hard' was met with positive reviews and featured MCClane going up against a group of cyber-terrorists. The fifth film looks to feature John's sternest challenge yet, with the statement noting, ".when his estranged son Jack is caught up in the daring prison escape of a rogue Russian leader, and father and son MCClane must work together to keep each other alive and keep the world safe for democracy".
The action franchise has grossed over $1 billion in total, with 'Live Free or Die Hard' taking over $300 million at the box office.
