Rapper DMX has finally quit snorting cocaine to focus on raising his 10 children.
The hip-hop star, real name Earl Simmons, has a long history of arrests and prison terms, for offences including drug and weapons possession, animal cruelty, and driving offences.
He was released from prison in July (11) after serving seven months for a probation violation, and now he's spoken out to reveal he's determined to turn his life around and win his battle with drugs.
The rapper tells Tmz.com, "Everyone was taking advantage of me with my finances, trying to put me in the direction to fail. I have 10 kids. I have to drive them in the right direction, so I let the cocaine go... I am on a spiritual road to do right in my life. I am leaving out all negativity and going to stay on the right road to positive."
Simmons' 10th child, a daughter named Aaliyah, was born earlier this year (11).
