Grammy-winning folk star Doc Watson is in a critical condition after suffering a fall at his home.
The blind singer was admitted to the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina after the accident on Monday (21May12).
A spokesperson at hospital on Thursday (24May12) said 89-year-old Watson - real name Arthel - was in a critical condition, while his daughter, Nancy, revealed the star didn't break any bones but is "real sick", according to the Winston-Salem Journal.
Watson's manager, Mitchell Greenhill, tells the publication, "We're just hoping he gets well soon."
The celebrated musician has received several huge honours, including a Grammy lifetime achievement award in 2004 and the North Carolina Award in 1986 - the state's highest civilian prize.
