Doherty Pleads Guilty To Criminal Damage After Photo Rowby Contributor | | 24 July 2008
Pete Doherty has pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal damage after he smashed a photographer's camera while with his family.
The Babyshambles broke news agency snapper Catherine Mead's camera after she had followed him around the Somerset town of Crewkerne in August last year.
The 29-year-old invited Ms Mead and her colleague to introduce themselves after the former had taken a photo of Doherty's then girlfriend Irina Lazareanu before grabbing the camera and breaking its lens.
Appearing at Yeovil magistrates court today dressed in a black suit and brown hat, the ex-Libertine was ordered to pay £918.27 in compensation to Ms Mead, as well as £00 costs.
An arrest warrant was issued for Doherty last week after he failed to turn up to a court hearing over the incident.
Earlier this year, the singer was jailed for breaching the terms of his probation and spent seven weeks at Wormwood SCRUBS before being released.
