DOLORES FULLER, the American actress who famously starred alongside Ed Wood in the 1953 cult classic 'Glen or Glenda', has died aged 88, reports Variety. DOLORES FULLER passed away at her home in Las Vegas on Monday (9th May 2011), after suffering complications following a stroke.

Fuller, who was also a lyricist, penned the words to a number of Elvis Presley songs that he performed in his movies. She was romantically involved with Ed Wood, often comically referred to as 'The World's Worst Director' and starred in his movies 'Jail Bait', 'Bride of the Monster' as well as 'Glen or Glenda'. Tim Burton's 1994 biopic 'Ed Wood' starred Sarah Jessica Parker as Fuller, with Johnny Depp playing the cult director. After her relationship with Wood ended, Fuller studied with STELLA ADLER at the Actors Studio in New York and also worked as a songwriter. Her biggest hits included 'Rock-a-Hula Baby', Nat King Cole's 'Someone to Tell It To' and the PEGGY LEE hit 'Losers Weepers'. Her last movie appearance came when she starred in the straight-to-video release 'The Corpse Grinders 2' in 2000 and she published her autobiography 'A Fuller Life: Hollywood, Ed Wood and Me' in 2009.

DOLORES FULLER is survived by her husband, the film historian PHILIP CHAMBERLIN, her son, three grandchildren and numerous stepchildren.
