Movie bosses behind the upcoming Wall Street sequel have confirmed Michael Douglas' cancer scare won't delay the opening of the movie - and the actor is adamant he will be well enough to carry out his promotional duties as planned.
The 65 year old is preparing to undergo eight weeks of radiation and chemotherapy treatment after doctors discovered a tumour in his throat.
The news sparked fears the veteran star's illness would affect the upcoming release of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, which is due to hit cinemas on 24 September (10).
But a representative for Twentieth Century Fox, the movie studio behind Oliver Stone's follow-up, has confirmed the release date will stay the same and Douglas is expected to walk the red carpet when the movie premieres, according to People.com.
After announcing news of his cancer earlier this week (beg16Aug10), Douglas said in a statement he is "very optimistic" of making a full recovery.
