British royal CAMILLA, DUCHESS OF CORNWALL is nursing a broken leg after taking a tumble during a walk in the Scottish hills.
The wife of Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, slipped in the wet conditions on Wednesday (07Apr10) and was taken to a local hospital to seek treatment.
Doctors diagnosed her with a twisted fracture of the left fibula and placed her leg in a cast.
Representatives for Clarence House, the royal's official London residence, have confirmed the injury, but insist the Duchess, 62, will continue to fulfil all of her scheduled engagements.
A statement released on Thursday read, "Yesterday while hill walking in slippery conditions in Scotland, the Duchess of Cornwall took a tumble and hurt her leg.
"Today, following doctor's advice, her royal highness had an x-ray which showed a twisted fracture of the fibula. Consequently her royal highness is wearing a plaster cast and will be for six weeks.
"She has been advised not to put weight on her leg. Her royal highness has every intention of carrying out all planned engagements."
