British singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran wants to break into acting with a gritty role in a prequel to hit movie Trainspotting.
The A Team hitmaker has enjoyed huge success with his debut album +, but admits he would happily appear on the big screen, and his ideal acting debut would be in an adaptation of Irvine Welsh's 2012 book Skagboys.
He tells Britain's The Sun, "If I ever did anything, I'd love to do something like Skagboys, a gritty Brit flick. Because I'm a bit clean cut and a bit smiley, it would be good to do something very out of the ordinary."
"I did National Youth Theatre (in London) when I was 16. I can hold a tune but my acting is not quite up to the same standard yet."
Skagboys tells the story of how the main characters in 1996 movie Trainspotting became drug addicts.
