Katy Perry believes Russell Brand loves her because she is a "strong elephant" woman.

The 'California Gurls' singer claims the British funnyman has met his match in her and he is impressed by her feisty personality.

She said: "He's an extremist, which can be both good and bad. I always needed someone stronger than me. And I am, like, a f***ing strong elephant of a woman. And I say that hopefully in the humblest way I can. When we have an argument he knows I'm not just gonna throw my hands up and say, 'OK you win.' Let's get into it. Let's start debating. Let's wrestle, Russell."

Katy, 25, also believes she and Russell, 35, make a great couple because they are both huge divas.

However, the pop beauty - who is marrying the comic star later this year - is worried their home may not be able to cope with two such big egos.

She added in an interview with Esquire magazine: "One night I picked him up from a meeting. I was just in my gym clothes. I walked into the meeting and he had his stylist, his seamstress, his PR person, hair, make-up, you name it. I was like, 'Oh my God, I am you. You are me. Two divas in one house.' It's like splitting the atom it shouldn't happen."
