Sir Elton John thinks PNAU are the first people to ever successfully remix his tracks.

The 'Candle in the Wind' singer is a huge fan of the Australian dance duo and asked them to come up with a remix album combining tracks from his ''golden era'' from 1970 to 1976.

He said: ''There have been several attempts to remix my music before but I've never felt as excited as I do about the finished product as I do about these tracks.''

Pnau - made up of childhood friends Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes - were also signed to Elton's management company and admitted to being a little ''bewildered'' that the legendary musician had personally requested them, as they were not too familiar with his music.

Nick - who is also a member of Empire of the Sun - said: ''I only knew about ten of his biggest songs to be honest. I was aware of his music as my mum used to talk about 70s artists.

''[But] he was amazing. We were bewildered. This legend telling us we are brilliant and he wants us to reinvent his music.''

Elton vs Pnau's 'Good Morning to the Night, Volume One' album is released on Monday (16.07.12).
