The music legend Sir Elton John is set to headline the last of three Peace One Day concerts for the London 2012 Festival at the Wembley Arena on Friday 21st September 2012. Further acts are yet to be announced.

Elton has expressed his deep gratitude for the opportunity given to him by actor and Peace One Day ambassador Jude Law and its founder JEREMY GILLEY. 'When Jeremy and Jude came to see me and told me about Peace One Day and the Global Truce 2012 campaign I had to get involved and support them', he said.

Gilley is equally as delighted at Elton's acceptance to perform. 'I'm honoured to welcome Elton John and so grateful to him'. Jude Law, who has been involved with Peace One Day for several years, has stated that it's 'thrilling' that Elton is going to be performing.

Peace One Day have already organised several significant humanitarian movements since its inception. On the 21st September 2001, the organisation initiated the first ever day of global ceasefire and non-violence marking the day as the official Peace Day. Their efforts have also brought families together, provided mosquito nets and food parcels across the world as well as providing vaccinations against polio for 4.5 million children in Afghanistan.

Other people known to have supported the organisation include Annie Lennox, Angelina Jolie, Lenny Kravitz, Pixie Lott, Razorlight, Eliza Doolittle, Bryan Adams and the English National Ballet.
