Emilia Mitiku's broken heart inspired her to write her new album, 'I Belong To You'.

The 35-year-old Swedish-Ethiopian singer felt she was stuck creatively after achieving initial success with her single 'Big, Big World' aged 19, so decided to move to Berlin for inspiration, where she met a mystery man who became her muse.

She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ''I was in this box ... I wasn't making any progress with my music, I wasn't happy with the way life was and I just needed to wake myself up. It was the best time of my life. I fell in love with the city and I fell in love with a man.''

Sadly, Emilia's romance in the German capital didn't have a happy end, as they split up leaving her with a broken heart, but plenty of inspiration for a new album.

She added: ''He's been a big reason why I wrote the album. Even though he hurt me a lot, he actually made me feel things. He was also a musician and I learned so much from him. That you can do the music you love and still be successful.''

Speaking of the track, 'You're Not Right For Me', she added: ''I thought he was Mr. Right, and he was lovely, just not right for me. I was miserable the whole time, in a way... Whenever he left the building.''

'I Belong To You' was released yesterday (11.03.13).
