Emma Watson is postponing her university studies.

The 'Harry Potter' actress and model is taking time out from her education at the prestigious Brown University in the US to concentrate on her commitments to the film series.

In a message to fans, the literature student wrote on her website: "As you know, I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything but recently I've had so much to juggle that being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible.

"I've decided to take a bit of time off to completely finish my work on Harry Potter (the last one comes out this summer) and to focus on my other professional and acting projects.

"I will still be working towards my degree... it's just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought."

Although shooting on the 'Harry Potter' series - in which Emma plays one of the central characters, Hermione Granger - is over, the last movie, 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2', is yet to be released and Emma will be expected to work promoting it over the summer.

The 20-year-old actress also appears in the film 'My Summer With Marilyn' which is released later this year, and has signed up for another movie, 'Perks of Being a Wallflower'.

Emma also announced a new fashion venture last week, collaborating on the 'Pure Threads by Emma Watson Alberta Ferretti' line.
