Endless Summer Keeps On Going For The Beach Boys

There is no shortage of veteran bands hitting the road in recent times, but the Beach Boys reunion tour just about takes the biscuit when it comes to anticipation for an act.
Their tour of America, which will see them perform at the Hollywood Bowl today (Saturday 2nd), is the first time Brian Wilson, 69, Mike Love, 71, Al Jardine, 69, and David Marks, 63, have toured together since the 1960s. Eagerness for the show couldn't be higher, although tensions are also at a sky-high level too as Brian Wilson and Mike Love look to still have their hang-up with each other.
One person who is trying his hardest to keep the Beach Boy bandwagon rolling is Jeffrey Foskett, the 56-year-old guitarist on hand to provide backing for the aging stars that have slightly lost the sheen from their flawless harmonies and falsetto's since the sixties. Since Wilson doesn't quite have the voice - or relationship with the group - he once had, the ability of the Beach Boys to tour depends heavily on Foskett's voice and the role he plays connecting Wilson with his former bandmates, particularly Mike Love.
Speaking of his call up to stand alongside the band he used to listen to when he was younger, Foskett said he felt like "a former Little Leaguer who got a call to report to Dodger Stadium." Here's hoping that he succeeds in keeping the tour going and letting the endless summer live on just that little bit longer.
