Traffic star Erika Christensen has heaped praise on the Church of Scientology, insisting she'd have no problems introducing her future kids to the faith.

The actress plays a dedicated mum on U.S. family drama Parenthood but has no kids of her own - but when she does become a mother, she plans to offer them the chance to become Scientologists.

Christensen, who is a lifelong member of the controversial church, opened up to Parenthood co-star Joy Bryant on her Across the Board webseries recently, and told her castmate the misconceptions about Scientology are ridiculous.

She says, "(The public assumes) we're some kind of closed group and we're just the Hollywood religion and we worship rabbits. I don't actually know how many people think that."

And she admits she's follow leading Scientologist Tom Cruise's example and introduce her kids to the Church, adding, "I would expose to them, like, 'This is what I do, which is how my parents did it, because my parents are Scientologists.'

"When I was seven, they did this demonstration. There is this thing in Scientology, it's a study method to demonstrate things out. I would give them the option of, like, these are our study tools. You can use them in school, get good grades, learn."

The Church, its high-profile members and techniques have come under fire recently from former members like moviemaker Paul Haggis, who will offer up his take on Scientology during a news special on U.S. Tv on Thursday night (17Jan13).
