Eva Longoria - Eva Longoria Continues Campaign For Child Labour Laws
Actress Eva Longoria returned to Washington, D.C. on Thursday (16Jun11) to step up her campaign to introduce more rights for young farm workers.
The Desperate Housewives star has been championing the cause for months, and in September (10) introduced a screening of director Robin Romano's hard-hitting documentary The Harvest/La Cosecha in the U.S. capital, urging U.S. government officials to pass the proposed Children's Act for Responsible Employment (Care), which will give young labourers more rights.
Longoria was back in the city this week to boost the profile of the ongoing campaign with another screening of the film, which highlights the harsh conditions some migrant children are being forced to work in.
In a post on her Twitter.com blog on Thursday morning, she wrote, "I have alot (sic) to do today in Washington DC, 1st press conference for Harvest..."
She later tweeted a photo of herself on Capitol Hill, writing, "On the Capitol re-introducing the Care Act and getting ready for national premier of Harvest- great documentary about child labor in US."
