Amy Winehouse was treated by a doctor over the holidays (Dec09) after she collapsed with exhaustion.
The troubled singer has been ordered to rest after she fainted while celebrating the festive season with friends at her home in Barnet, North London.
Winehouse has recently been suffering from a chest infection, which was said to have been exacerbated by stress over her recent assault charge.
A source tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "She's been told to keep a low profile and fully recuperate. She has been feeling very ill of late and had a funny turn at home. She is quite unwell and exhausted after recent events but is soldiering on."
But the insider insists the incident was not the result of excessive drinking or drug-taking, adding: "She's doing her best to concentrate on her music and not become embroiled in drugs again. Her new songs are amazing but will be on the back burner until she feels better. The last week has been a massive setback for Amy who was really turning a corner. Everyone in her camp is shocked by what has happened. But their main concern is making sure she feels better. Then she can throw herself into her music. The New Year isn't getting off to the best start but Amy is determined and she'll keep looking forward."
Winehouse was last week (23Dec09) charged with a public order offence and common assault over an altercation with a theatre manager during a Christmas pantomime show in Milton Keynes, England earlier this month (Dec09).
The singer, who was charged under her married name of Amy Civil, is due at Milton Keynes Magistrates' Court on 20 January (10).
