Faith Hill - Faith Hill Cma Awards Performance Becomes Twitter Trend
Faith Hill made a welcome return at the Cma Awards held last night (November 9th 2011), managing to grab a fair share of the limelight despite 21 year-old superstar Taylor Swift also performing and taking the prestigious 'Entertainer Of The Year Award' for the second time in her career. Indeed, while Swift was rightly taking headlines, it was in fact 44 year-old Faith sharing the adulation on the internet despite not picking up any awards, trending on Twitter following the live debut of her come back single 'Come Home'.
Hill has sold more than 40 million records worldwide since her 1993 debut 'Take Me As I Am' went three times platinum in the US; her last three albums, 1999's 'Breathe', 2002's 'Cry' and 'Fireflies' from 2005 all hit the US Billboard number one and went multi-platinum. Yet apart from 'Joy To The World', a 2008 Christmas album, there's been little action in the studio from the artist in which time Swift has first launched and then expanded her own fledgling career, taking two number one Billboard chart placings with her second and third albums respectively.
However, The Examiner reports that Hill played her first live song at the Cma Awards for five years, causing a storm on Twitter and leading to much speculation about when the star's eight studio album will be released and when she'll be touring in support of it. Hill has previously insisted she won't be rushed, but this seems like a step in the right direction.
