Generous Colin Farrell has become a guardian angel to a homeless Canadian after buying the man a new wardrobe and paying to keep him off the streets. The Irish movie hunk was shopping in Toronto last week (ends14Sep07), while visiting the city's famous film festival, when he recognised the homeless guy, called Dave, from a previous trip - and decided to treat him. Farrell bundled his stunned pal into his car and took him to fashion store Europe Bound, and told staff there to "get him anything he wants." Dave, aka Stress, picked up a $500 (GBP250) coat, a North Face sleeping bag, and a rolling backpack stuffed with socks, boots and underwear. But the treat didn't end there - Farrell handed his homeless pal wad of cash and then arranged to pay the rent on a room for Dave - for a year. According to reports, Dave met Farrell in 2003 when the kindhearted actor conspired to win the homeless guy $2,000 (GBP1,000). When the Irishman heard a local Toronto radio host was offering listeners the cash if they could get Farrell on the other end of a telephone, the actor found the first homeless man and took him to the station - to claim the 'reward'.
