Fearne Cotton refuses to call her husband-to-be Jesse Jenkins her 'fiance' because she hates the word.
Fearne Cotton, the Radio 1 DJ and television personality, says she dislikes calling photographer Jesse Jenkins her "fiance", because she finds the word "pretentious".
Speaking to Glamour Magazine, Cotton said, "I can't say fiance. It sounds really pretentious. I'm allergic to it. Husband is fine. I'll be fine with that". The couple became engaged after Jenkins got down on one knee on Fearne's 29th birthday, but the presenter says she won't be planning an extravagant wedding, adding, "I hate rules. Whether you're going back with someone for the tenth time, or you've been with them for years and you're not married, it doesn't matter as long as you're happy. We always had this magnetic connection and this deep love, and we knew it wasn't right to be apart, but we gave it a go and it didn't work, so we tried to distance ourselves".
Fearne Cotton, who turns 30-years-old this year, says she wants to spend her thirties "baking and chilling out and having a family".
