Rap veteran Flavor Flav joined the star players of his beloved New York Giants on Tuesday (06Feb12) to help them celebrate their Super Bowl win during a championship parade through the Big Apple.
American football fans lined the streets of Lower Manhattan to cheer on the Giants as they waved to the crowds and showed off the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Public Enemy star Flavor Flav was granted the honour of partying with the likes of footballers Eli Manning and Victor Cruz on board the official team floats as they made their way to City Hall, where Mayor Michael Bloomberg toasted the players for their big win against the New England Patriots.
Giants co-owner John Mara - the uncle of actress Rooney Mara - addressed the crowd and thanked Giants fans for their unwavering support, before Bloomberg presented each team member with a key to the city.
Meanwhile, rocker Nikki Sixx took to Twitter.com to express his disappointment at missing out on the parade due to his Motley Crue concert commitments in Las Vegas.
He wrote, "I wish i was in New York right now to celebrate with you……Congrats New York..."
And Mariah Carey watched the parade from above as she looked down from the window of her luxury Manhattan apartment - although she had to listen to a few jealous football fans moan about the Giants' parade.
She tweeted: "Outside my window down in Tribeca a lovely chant of "We Don'T Give A F***!!!!" Haaaaaa.. Go NY: )"
