Foo Fighters' new album 'Wasting Light' is receiving rave reviews.

The Rock band's seventh record - which was released today (12.04.11) - has been praised as the group's best effort so far on both sides of the Atlantic.

British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called it: "Far and away this band's best album to date - tough but accessible, reliably catchy, yet also surprising at the last."

Meanwhile, a write-up in the New York Daily News said: "Like most Foo CDs, 'Wasting' charms from start to finish. It's energetic, fun and unendingly catchy."

The band's frontman Dave Grohl had previously revealed that the new tracks were recorded in his garage and says he thinks their success comes down to their raw, inexpensive sound.

He told MTV: "There's some sort of nobility in being that band that can sell out a stadium, and then you make your record in a garage - like, to me, that's badass - and to tape. Because I'm sure most people would go and get the newest stuff and work in the nicest studio and spend a trillion dollars and just, like, try to make these computer hits.

"I like that we're a band that, when we play live, we don't have, like, computers and stuff behind us making half of what you're hearing."
