Kraftwerk are recording a new album.

The 'Model' hitmakers insist they are not worried about getting older and have no plans to stop making music in the foreseeable future.

When asked if he plans to make a new album, frontman Ralf Hutter, 63, told German magazine Spiegel: "Of course. Why should we stop doing what we love to do?

"I don't see any difference, and birthdays do not interest me. We make our career as music workers like a serialised novel."

The musician also spoke about decision making within the group, saying the band is "still autonomous and independent like a craft producer".

Kraftwerk formed in 1970 and are regarded as one of the most influential electronic acts of all time.

In November 2008, founder member Florian Schneider stunned fans when he left the group to embark on a solo career.
