Fox Drops Results Show From So You Think You Can Dance
Fox may have concluded that it is overloaded with talent shows. On Monday, Nigel Lythgoe, the producer/judge on So You Think You Can Dance revealed that Fox had canceled the separate weekly results show, making it necessary for him to combine the separate performance and results episodes. "I'm certainly not mad at Fox -- they have supported SYTYCD for 9 seasons," Lythgoe said in a statement on Twitter. "With the help of [Fox exec] Mike Darnell I think we have some great new ideas." Meanwhile, Simon Cowell, who departed Britain's Got Talent to devote his full attention to the launch of the American version of The X Factor , said that he will return to the British show this year after ratings for it dropped in his absence. "I want this show to be back in the world's spotlight," Cowell said. Indicating that he's looking for a variety of acts -- singers, comedians, even great magicians -- Cowell remarked, "I've always dreamt about finding a dog who can play guitar. And we've failed. So I want talented dogs. I really want one that can dance or can play an instrument."
