Franz Ferdinand have announced they will launch their third album at London gay club Heaven.

The band will reportedly showcase songs from their forthcoming album TONIGHT: FRANZ FERDINAND at the venue on January 20th.

According to the club's manager Mark Ellico, tickets for the special performance sold out in around 20 minutes.

Speaking to Seattle Gay News, the band revealed that they are fans of the capital's lively gay scene.

"There is a great gay club in London called Horse Meat Disco. They've recreated New York in the 1970s," drummer Paul Thomson told the publication.

Singer Alex Kapranos added: "I'd say the best club is Optimo. It's neither a gay nor straight club. A great mixture of music and fantastic DJs. It's very cool."

Meanwhile, it was recently announced that the band will perform live on Jonathan Ross's comeback show on January 23rd, which will also feature Stephen Fry and comedian Lee Evans.
