Freddie Starr will not be returning to 'I'm A Celebrity.Get Me Out of Here' after producers deemed the Liverpool comedian too unwell to compete after being hospitalised with an allergic reaction, according to Bbc News.
The 68-year-old had delighted audiences earlier this week by eating mouse tails and turkey testicles in the 'Greasy Spoon' bushtucker trial, but he complained of feeling light-headed on his way back to camp and was taken to hospital. He was said to have suffered a "severe allergic reaction from an unknown origin", although it is not clear whether the mealworms, fermented egg or pigs anus he devoured on Monday's show had anything to do with the illness. An Itv spokesman said Freddie had been "a terrific contestant" but explained bosses had decided it was best for him to leave. After being told of the producers decision, Starr said, "I was sorry to hear the news about what the doctors said - that I was allergic to something, to play it safe and best for me not to go back in.I was sick not to finish the show. The decision's been made and I have to live with that. I wish everyone on the show all the best. They're all really nice people and I had a great time in there".
The comedian had already arrived late in Australia after a paperwork problem concerning his heart bypass in 2010. It is not yet clear when the comic plans to fly back to the UK.
