Jack Savidge's appeal to find his missing housemate ended in tragedy as the 29 year old was found dead on Saturday (17Nov12).

The Friendly Fires drummer was deeply concerned after his friend Adam Connolly failed to return from a bike ride in east London on Wednesday (14Nov12) and he turned to Twitter.com to post a snap of his pal and appeal for information.

Fans and fellow musicians Skrillex and Florence + The MAChine frontwoman Florence Welch shared the appeal on their social media pages in order to help find him.

However, the search was called off on Saturday after Connolly's body was discovered by police on Hackney Marshes, east London.

A police spokesperson says, "The body of a man was found on Hackney Marshes, near to Lee Valley Ice Rink. Although officers await formal identification, they are satisfied that the deceased is Adam Connolly. Next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course. At this early stage, the death is not believed to be suspicious. Inquiries continue by Hackney officers to establish full circumstances."

Savidge later tweeted the sad news, "The search for Adam Connolly has been called off and the news is bad. Thank you for all your help in spreading his picture and info."
