Ireland never hand an army because everybody wanted to be general. gallagher(whose name means stranger) stands in the same self-loathing tradition that refuses to admit the common bond that ties micks together. a feeling of "outsider-ness" brought on by exposure to the ascendancy of 17th/18th century English occupation and the temptation to advance one's own cause by tearing down another. there's enough talent in the referenced music to see that each band or soloist was right for the time and place. there's only so many notes in western music. how one puts them together is the genius. who cares if oasis is derivative. the beatles an stones were as well.

It's not even in the same league with the Beatles debut. It can't even measure up to the first solo efforts of McCartney, Lennon or Harrison. But I will admit, it was a little better than Ringo's first release.
